An american record collector has uncovered what may be one of the rarest beatles albums in the world. Although john tefteller's copy of sgt pepper's lonely hearts club band has the same tracklisting and similar album artwork, there is just one little difference – or, more accurately, 40 differences.

The Beatles' Second Album [ edit ]
The first track on the album (not if you bought the cassette tape in the 1970s, that reordered the album and stared with good day sunshine) and apparently the first beatles lyric not concerned with that thing called lurrvve. For me this song, more than any other defines revolver. That bass line, that guitar solo are both paul, but the lyric is pithy george at his best. John said (rather grumpily) in an interview that he helped george a great deal with this track even though he wasn’t credited.

This book is pretty much necessary to understand what you are hearing on the three-volume anthology, and because our vol. 3 (purchased separately) didn't have the booklet (nor could the seller find one -- but it didn't claim to have one so no criticism there. Thank you for looking. ) i bought this book instead. As a supplement to the anthology, it works, and it even is an interesting read on its own. But be cautioned that unless you savor tons of triival beatles details and many repeat versions of recordings from their backlogs (these are the ones that didn't make the cuts, and most are less than stellar), then it can get a bit overwhelming. I don't blame any manufacturer or seller for my misunderstanding of what the anthology contained, and as i recall when it was first released, everybody was tripping over themselves with rave reviews. Call me underwhelmed and not so impressed, but at least we have this coveted collection without paying top dollar. And if i ever get on jeopardy! with a beatles category, i plan to dominate the category with a little help from the anthology.
Cecil replies: i have the album right here. You forget how big these things were — 12 inches by 12. (to be precise, 12-5/16 by 12-1/16. ) perfect for examining for hidden meanings while listening to the album on headphones. Can you do that with the dinky paper inserts on today’s cds? i think not. And there were hidden meanings, too. Beatles ’65 is a good example. There are four photos, representing the four seasons. (no, i don’t mean the group the four seasons. I mean the cycle of meteorological variation you might have noticed had you not been holed up in your room all the time listening to records. ) in the largest of the four photos, the beatles are holding umbrellas representing winter — winter as experienced in london, one feels obliged to say, not minneapolis. In the other photos they’re holding parasols and a knotted handkerchief for summer, brooms and leaves for autumn, and giant springs and a green shoot for spring. Springs for spring! the beatles have grasped the pun! truly these were multitalented guys.
